By choosing to enroll in Pure Power, you agree to pay just a penny and a half more per kilowatt-hour to support clean energy. AmerenUE then purchases renewable energy certificates from new regional wind and other renewable energy facilities equal to your electric demand. Electricity produced by renewables helps offset the generation of
electricity from other sources such as fossil fuels.

Pure Power energy comes from the Bluegrass Ridge Wind Farm, located in King City, Missouri. Local farmers benefit from land-lease payments they receive from wind turbines and schools benefit from an increase in tax revenue. Enrolling in Pure Power promotes a cleaner and stronger Missouri. The average residential customer who enrolls for a year will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 19,500 pounds― the same carbon reduction provided by 7 acres of forest each year or taking two cars off the road for a year.
